Nemo table lamp Charlotte Perriand Pivotante à Poser | Various colors

Charlotte Perriand

Charlotte Perriand belonged to the avant-garde cultural movement that, from the first decades of the twentieth century, led to a profound shift in aesthetic values. At the age of 24, she began working in the studio of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. Most of the furniture designs from Le Corbusier`s studio during this period are hers.

The Pivotante table lamp, manufactured by Nemo Lighting, is an icon among table lamps. It ushered in a new era in lighting design in the 1950s: the light output of the Pivotante à Poser is regulated by two shades, which, by rotating, allow the beam to be opened and closed, and the lighting to be controlled directly or indirectly.
