Book Max Bill View of Things – The Good Form: An Exhibition 1949
In 1949, the international travelling exhibition "The Good Form", conceived by Max Bill on behalf of the Swiss Werkbund SWB, was presented for the first time. 80 panels designed by Bill showed consumer goods from all over the world that he had selected and that had been shaped in exemplary fashion. The show caused some anger in Switzerland and caused a furore and discussion beyond the country's borders. But it had a far-reaching effect - for example on the way consumer goods were perceived.
This publication documents Bill's initiative for the first time with the original exhibition panels. Contemporary texts place the controversial, trend-setting traveling show in a theoretical, impact- and design-historical context.
