Book Roberto Burle Marx Lectures - Landscape as Art and Urbanism
Roberto Burle Marx (1909–1994) is still considered one of the most influential landscape architects of all time. His landscape design is known for the use of abstract forms and tropical plants. Although his distinctive and highly praised works are discussed in numerous publications, Burle Marx`s own writings have hardly been published to date.
This book, which contains unpublished lectures, fills this gap. The lectures, which were given at international conferences, deal with topics such as `The Garden as an Art of Living`, `Gardens and Ecology`, `The Problem of Garden Lighting`. They provide insight into Burle Marx`s extraordinary style and his ethos of landscape as a way of life.
