Miro 6-400a chair from horgenglarus | with armrest
Hannes Wettstein
miro von horgenglarus, a compact wooden chair with puristic lines, is a redesign by the internationally renowned designer Hannes Wettstein (1958-2008). Wettstein, who sought the essence of things in his works, created a very harmonious design of confident, discreet elegance with his sensitivity for shapes, dimensions and proportions.
The starting point for the design of miro was the stacking chair 687 S, a factory design from 1950, which received the 'Good Form' award in 1958. The profile on the inside of the front legs was rounded, the seat tapered towards the back. The chair has become more ergonomic by changing the angle of the back legs and the bulge in the seat.
miro marks the new beginning of horgenglarus. With its succinctly unspectacular form, it is one of the most successful chairs and became the starting point of an extensive chair family that Hannes Wettstein created for horgenglarus until 2007.
With its understated character, horgenglarus miro can be used in many private rooms as well as in public areas such as restaurants. There is also a version without armrests (see 'matches').
