With the Barboy, Verner Panton laid the foundation for a new trend: mobile furniture. In 1963, when Panton moved to Basel (Switzerland) to work with Vitra on new furniture concepts, he was particularly interested in designing flexible furniture for more flexibility in interior design.

The Barboy is a perfect example of this design approach. The bar cabinet can be moved quickly and easily on its four chrome-plated castors, while offering plenty of space for all kinds of contents.
