Wagenfeld table lamp WG 24
Wilhelm Wagenfeld
Bauhaus table lamp WG 24 Wilhelm Wagenfeld, 1924
Wagenfeld was 24 years old when he was accepted as a journeyman in the Bauhaus workshop in Weimar. Here he designed the first model of the WG 24 lamp based on a task set by László Moholy-Nagy. As Wagenfeld said, the Bauhaus designs were meant to be industrial products and to look like them. In fact, they were handmade.
And this is exactly how the Wagenfeld table lamp WG 24 is still manufactured today according to the original dimensions and materials. The "Bauhaus lamp" is one of Wagenfeld's masterpieces. Since 1986 it has also been available in the shop of the MoMA, New York.
