Detecma armchair by Gufram
The Detecma armchair was not designed by a designer, but by a mathematician. The concept was created in 1967 by the physicist Prof. Tullio Regge, who is considered one of the most influential scientific mathematicians of the 20th century.
For the Gufram Detecma Chair, he converted a mathematical function into a volume with deliberately ergonomic properties in the laboratories of Princeton University. Detecma was thus the first object to be realized with the help of an electronic computer.
The Detecma armchair is made of elastic polyurethane foam covered with a stretch fabric. The round Detecma Chair by Gufram is available in blue, green, yellow, orange, red and grey.
