Turtle bed by Lukas Buol and Marco Zünd

A plywood board becomes a stackable bed; one on top of the other a couch, a double or guest bed in no time at all. The Turtle bed is the mobile alternative to immovable living: so simple, so flexible. The bed base and frame are made from one piece.

The stackable wb form bed consists of a floor-free, naturally varnished plywood shell. The milled slots provide suspension and ventilation for the mattress. When stacked, the feet fit into the handles. This means the Turtle bed can easily be converted into a couch, double bed or guest bed.

This architectural concept by Lukas Buol and Marco Zünd expands the dimensions of mobile living in a strikingly simple way and was awarded the `Design Prize Switzerland` in 1995.
