Semis carpet by Kvadrat

The Kvadrat Semis carpet is a harmonious interplay of dots and haptics and is the result of two years of intensive research by Paris-based designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The dots are arranged geometrically and have different rhythms due to variations in the density and depth of the knotted surface of the carpet. This creates the visual effect of an abstract landscape, similar to an aerial photograph of plants in a field.

The production of the Semis carpet from hand-spun Tibetan wool is time-consuming, as the delicate - but remarkably strong - Tibetan knotting technique is used. For a 200 cm wide carpet, three weavers work together, making 7 cm per day. After knotting, the Kvadrat carpet is washed and the surface trimmed with scissors. The deliberately irregularly cut corners create a beautiful irregular surface with a handmade touch.

There are four designs of the Semis carpet to choose from. The color range of the four carpets varies from a predominantly black to a predominantly white surface. Please specify the desired color number (see pictures) in the comments field when ordering.
