Roth bed by Embru | Bed frame with or without mattress | 90 - 180 cm
Alfred Roth
The Swiss architect Alfred Roth, born in 1903, came into contact with the Le Corbusier office in Paris very soon after completing his studies. Strongly influenced by the Bauhaus era, he made a name for himself as a construction manager and architect, and also designed numerous pieces of furniture. In 1956, Alfred Roth was appointed professor at the ETH Zurich.
The Embru bed, now known as the Roth Bed 455, was created in 1927. For a long time it was mistakenly called a Corbusier bed. In reality, Alfred Roth had developed the prototype because he needed a sliding bed with 'runners' for a niche.
The Embru Roth bed is now used in both the bedroom and the living area as a sofa, lounger or daybed. The bed can be easily assembled or disassembled without screws or tools.
