Looking back, Wilhelm Kienzle's collapsible shelf can now be considered one of the most popular pieces of furniture from the Swiss modern era.

Its efficiency in terms of material use and space requirements is hard to beat. The practical and aesthetic advantages of this design are particularly evident when arranged in a row: when arranged next to each other, the side shelf supports are almost invisible, and the horizontal line is emphasized. Additional shelf levels can be added one above the other and adapted to requirements using freely selectable combinations of compartments of different heights. The shelves are plugged together, so they can be assembled without screws.
