Aluflex chair by Seledue

The ingenious nestable multi-purpose chair

The chair is surprising due to its extremely economical horizontal stacking (nesting), its light weight of just 3 kg, its robustness and its high level of seating comfort. Armin Wirth`s design is based on two curved, mechanically connected brackets. The material used is a solid, corrosion-resistant round profile made of an aluminum alloy. The surface is natural, anodized. The seat and backrest are made of 5-ply glued plywood in light or black lacquered beech. The flexible backrest (aircraft plywood) adapts to any posture.

The seledue Aluflex multi-purpose chairs have usage characteristics and functional advantages that are rarely found in other mobile seating systems. They are particularly suitable for theaters, concert halls and lecture rooms in multi-purpose buildings, schools, gymnasiums, community centers, sanatoriums, etc.

Folding up the seat and the special shape of the supporting structure allow individual chairs or entire, linked rows of chairs to be pushed closely together with a stacking density of just 4 cm. The space required for 100 Aluflex chairs nested together is therefore 4.5 meters. Folding up the seat allows the users of concert seating to step back into the chair, which enables smooth passage between the rows of chairs.
