Side and nesting table set of 3 B by Marcel Breuer for Thonet | Exhibition model

The bentwood technique perfected by Michael Thonet was one of the sources of inspiration for Marcel Breuer's experiments with bent tubular steel. This idea gave rise to the four-part nesting table set of 3 B (B 9 b, B 9 c and B 9 d). The small tables can be used in a variety of ways - as a side table in seating groups, as a practical storage space or as the perfect place for a vase of fresh flowers. After use, they can be pushed together to save space. The special feature of this range lies in its functional simplicity - the nesting tables consist only of bent tubular steel and rectangular plates.
