In Between SK1 chair by &Tradition
Sami Kallio
For his 'In Between' collection, Finnish designer Sami Kallio was inspired by the wooden furniture designed in the 1950s by Hans J. Wegner, one of the founding fathers of Scandinavian design. The 'In Between' armchair is therefore a respectful reference to the past, even though its design is clearly directed towards the future.
Material and color:
The backrest and armrests are extremely sculpturally shaped and offer the sitter perfect support, while at the same time playing with the alternation between material and free surfaces.
The armchair is handcrafted in Denmark and is based on a masterful mastery of the carpentry craft that is deeply rooted in the Scandinavian tradition. The processed wood is robust through and through, although it is very thin and finely worked in some parts of the chair.
