Little Tulip Chair by Pierre Paulin for Artifort | Armchair with disc

Pierre Paulin`s most successful chair. The Little Tulip Chair was designed by Pierre Paulin in 1965 and is part of a whole series of furniture that he developed for Artifort. The similarity in name to Eero Saarinen`s Tulip Chair by Knoll was certainly intentional at the time. However, this one-legged chair has a completely different design and is a real Artifort classic.

The French designer and interior designer Pierre Paulin became known for his organic designs from the 1960s. The shapes he created are often technically difficult to implement and require the highest level of craftsmanship. In 1958, Pierre Paulin found a partner who met these requirements in the Dutch manufacturer Artifort. Together with Artifort, he created legendary seating furniture from the 1960s such as the Tulip Chair, the Ribbon Chair and the Mushroom Chair, which are still very popular today (and are also available from us).

The Little Tulip armchair is chrome-plated or powder-coated and available in many different colors and fabrics. In addition to this version with the disc as a base, the Little Tulip Chair is also available with a cross base (see Little Tulip Chair armchair with cross base).

Artifort Selecte is an exclusive custom-made product by the fabric manufacturer Kvadrat for Artifort. It is the upholstery fabric Tonus (90% new wool and 10% Helanca) with a unique look - Artifort Selecte uses two complementary colored threads, giving the fabric a very soft, warm feel. The colors are carefully selected to reflect the timeless, classic design of the brand.

On display in the showroom and immediately available is a model with a white base and light grey Hallingdal 65 cover in colour 0103 (see photos 1-7). Other cover types are available on request.
