Alvar Aalto Artek Tea Trolley 901
Alvar Aalto
An icon of the famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto – the 901 serving trolley. The tea trolley was inspired by the British tea culture that he and his wife Aino had experienced through their many travels, as well as by the Japanese woodwork and architecture that they admired.
Featuring a frame made of two birch slats, the 901 serving cart features two tabletops or shelves and a solid birch handle. Twin wheels combined with the lightweight quality of the birch wood allow for easy maneuvering and parking.
Even today, this centerpiece is still manufactured at Artek with great attention to detail, based on the original designs. And, as it has already proven in many households, the Tea Trolley 901 is the perfect companion for the home bar, afternoon tea, or simply as a beautiful side table.
