Ashoka table lamp by Ettore Sottsass for Memphis Milano

The Memphis Milano Ashoka lamp was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1981. The colorful `totem` with the imposing dimensions is representative of the work of the Italian grand master of design, Ettore Sottsass: playful, geometric shapes arranged on top of each other, a bold combination of bright colors and pure non-conformism.

The metal frame of the Ashoka lamp is multi-colored in green, yellow, pink, white and chrome. 5 light bulbs protrude from the various lamp parts, which further contribute to the aesthetics of the lamp. This cleverly balanced symmetrical structure rests on an elegant, gray base.
