Alvar Aalto Artek Chair 65
Alvar Aalto
Alvar Aalto is considered a pioneer of plywood processing. Influenced by the German Bauhaus, he experimented with this material from 1927 onwards and created numerous designs together with his wife, Aino Aalto. The design for Chair 65 was created in 1935 for his own company, Artek.
The Artek Chair 65 has lost none of its charm and is more sought after than ever. Like almost all Aalto products, it features the typical organic L-shape. Its legs are bent and then covered with birch veneer. The bending technique, specially developed by Aalto, was revolutionary at the time and still ensures its unsurpassed stability today.
Width 35 cm, depth 40 cm, height 66 cm, seat height 45.5 cm
