Gufram Pratone Forever Sofa

Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi und Riccardo Rosso

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2021, Gufram presented a new version of what is certainly the most unusual seating furniture in design history as part of the 50th design anniversary of the Pratone sofa. Pratone Forever is a spin-off of its famous predecessor, which is covered in a green fabric. The lawn is also 30% smaller than the original and consists of 25 instead of 42 blades of grass, so it fits perfectly into your own four walls.

As a unique and unconventional sofa for which no replacement has yet been found, Pratone has become a manifesto of design history. The Vitra Design Museum counts it among the 100 masterpieces of design history and it is one of the most exhibited design pieces in the world. The design was created in 1972 by Giorgio Ceretti, Riccardo Derossi & Piero de Rossi as an experiment in radical design. Pratone is a design idea that was light years away from the usual typologies of bourgeois interior design of the 1970s. The object made of polyurethane foam shows a gigantic section of a meadow and is intended as a piece of furniture for relaxation.
