The Kvadrat Aram 2 rug by Kinnasand / Kvadrat Rugs explores the dynamics between volume, structure and colour. Handwoven from pure New Zealand wool, the flat weave opens up a new perspective on the artisanal sumac technique.

Kvadrat Aram 2 is a comfortable carpet characterized by a subtle play of precisely coordinated colorways. During production, bundles of twisted yarns are wrapped around the warp, creating a multi-dimensional expression reminiscent of enlarged braided ribs.

The yarn bundles are partially dyed by hand in gradations from lighter to darker tones. This process gives each individual yarn an individual color expression. As a result, Aram 2 offers a palette of fine color nuances and subtle color rhythms that play on the surface.

A border made of finely woven wool surrounds the surface and completes the design of the Kvadrat carpet. The finishing process, which includes singeing and washing, emphasises the feel of the carpet and the clear structure of its surface.

The differentiated color palette of Aram 2 is inspired by subtle, yet striking tones of minerals and metamorphic rocks. The carpet is available in a total of 13 multifaceted color combinations.
