With the Barboy, Verner Panton laid the foundation for a new trend: mobile furniture. In 1963, when Panton moved to Basel (Switzerland) to work with Vitra on new furniture concepts, he was particularly interested in designing flexible furniture to allow for greater flexibility in room layout.

The Barboy is a perfect example of this design approach. The bar cabinet can be moved easily and quickly on its four chrome-plated casters, while offering plenty of space for all kinds of items.
