podia from horgenglarus is an extremely flexible table system that allows tables in almost any desired size and shape.

This variety of shapes is possible because the cast iron legs are mounted on the outer part of the table top and do not require any struts due to their T-shaped head plate. A simple and convincing solution.

Thanks to its clear and simple shape, podia can be combined with almost any chair and fits perfectly with modern buildings made of glass, steel and concrete.

This combination of cast iron legs and solid wood table top is typical for horgenglarus and is reminiscent of the traditional factory designs from the 1920s and 30s.

With its profile rotated by 45° and the slightly curved surface, the podia table leg follows the production-technical possibilities of solid casting. It is manufactured in the Chur foundry using traditional sand casting, the highest quality casting process. Each leg is treated with anthracite textured paint. The horgenglarus lettering is discreetly cast into one side of the leg. The weight of the cast iron gives the table excellent stability, despite the delicate legs.

Custom-made products are a specialty of horgenglarus. The 30 mm thick table tops for podia are made individually from solid wood according to the desired dimensions. To ensure that the top remains permanently flat, a principle from the 17th century is used: a groove is milled into each solid wood top and a ridge strip is embedded in it. Thanks to this traditional craftsmanship, even large tables can be made without a central support without any problems. The surface is sanded by hand until the wood is velvety soft.
