Podia t-1806 table from horgenglarus | 160 - 220cm

podia from horgenglarus is an extremely flexible table system that allows tables in almost any desired size and shape. The shape of the cast iron leg allows widths of over 1.20 meters as well as oversized round tables. There are no limits to the variability: in addition to the classic square and round tables, free shapes are also possible. This fulfills a long-held wish of many architects.
This variety of shapes is possible because the cast iron legs are mounted on the outer part of the table top and do not require any struts due to their T-shaped head plate. A simple and convincing solution.
Thanks to its clear and simple form, podia can be combined with almost any chair and fits perfectly with modern buildings made of glass, steel and concrete. The combination of cast iron legs and solid wood table top is typical for horgenglarus and is reminiscent of the traditional factory designs from the 1920s and 30s.
Since 2020, horgenglarus has also been offering a 2-leg version of the podia. The design language remains the same, but the legs are cast in a V-shape at an angle of 48°. Here, too, the leg profile is rotated by 45° and the surface is slightly curved. A head plate with three projections is cast at the apex so that the legs can be securely screwed on. This table typology offers plenty of legroom and is flexible in length. The width of the table top can vary from 700 to 950 mm.
All podia table legs are manufactured in the Chur foundry using traditional sand casting, the highest quality casting process. Each leg is treated with anthracite textured paint. The word horgenglarus is discreetly cast into one side of the leg. The weight of the cast iron gives the podia tables excellent stability, despite the delicate legs.
Custom-made products are a specialty of horgenglarus. The 30 mm thick table tops for podia are made individually from solid wood according to the desired dimensions. To ensure that the top remains permanently flat, a principle from the 17th century is used: a groove is milled into each solid wood top and a ridge strip is inserted into it. Thanks to this traditional craftsmanship, even large tables can be easily manufactured without a central support.
