podia by Horgenglarus is an extremely flexible table system that allows for tables in almost any desired size and shape. The design of the cast leg permits widths exceeding 1.20 meters as well as oversized round tables. There are no limits to the variability: in addition to classic rectangular and round tables, free-form shapes are also possible. This fulfills a long-held wish of many architects.

This variety of shapes is possible because the cast legs are mounted on the outer edge of the tabletop and, thanks to their T-shaped headplate, require no additional bracing. A simple and effective solution.

Thanks to its clear and simple form, podia can be combined with almost any chair and fits perfectly with modern buildings made of glass, steel and concrete.

This combination of cast leg and solid wood tabletop is typical for Horgenglarus and is reminiscent of the traditional factory designs from the 1920s and 30s.

With its 45° angled profile and slightly convex surface, the podia table leg takes full advantage of the production possibilities of solid casting. It is manufactured in the Chur foundry using traditional sand casting, the highest quality casting method. Each leg is finished with anthracite textured lacquer. The Horgenglarus name is discreetly cast into one side of the leg. The weight of the cast iron gives the table excellent stability, despite its delicate legs.

Custom-made furniture is a specialty of Horgenglarus. For example, the 30 mm thick tabletops for podia are individually crafted from solid wood to the desired dimensions. To ensure the tabletop remains perfectly flat, a 17th-century principle is employed: a groove is milled into each solid wood slab, and a tenon is inserted into it. Thanks to this traditional craftsmanship, even large tables can be easily manufactured without a center support.

podia was designed by Moritz Schlatter, who designed the glaris table for Horgenglarus in 2012.
