In 2022, Poltronova relaunched an absolute icon of Italian design with the Safari Sofa. The oversized seating landscape consists of four different elements of two different seat types (two armchair modules and two sofa modules) and was first produced by Poltronova in 1968.
The structure of the Poltronova sofa is made of fiberglass. For the seat and backrest upholstery, Archizoom chose a leopard print fabric. The same pattern is used for the carpet placed between the seats. The choice of leopard print was a reference to the work Bedroom Ensemble (1963) by Claes Oldenburg, the master of English Pop Art.
Sarfari is part of the permanent collection of renowned museums, including the Centre Pompidou and the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, and has been repeatedly presented in numerous art and design exhibitions.
